Offline upgrade of SAV for Linux

Hi all, I am new to this product and would like to seek for advice on the captioned item.

I have a project that have no internet access from the servers and installed with SAV for Linux. I am able to update the IDE by following the procedure here. But it mentioned each version of SAV for LInux is only supported for only 3 months. Thus, to keep the SAV to be supported with IDE available, I would have to re-install the SAV for every 3 months.

Do I need to uninstall the current running one before re-installing the SAV? Do I need to reconfigure every stuffs, e.g. Scheduled scan, after every re-installation? Or, is there any upgrade procedure available? I could not find these from both the Startup Guide or Configuration Guide and also in the site.

P.S. I am currently using SAV 9.4.0 on RHEL 6.3

    Hello PCS,

    do you have SAV only for for this off-net segment or do you also have an online installation? In the latter case you could copy the CID and mount it as update location.

    Normally the installer will perform an upgrade for an existing installation (please see Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux/UNIX version 9: Overview) and preserve any settings. NO need to uninstall first.

    Thank you for your reply. SAV is only installed in the off-net segment. No SAV with internet is available.

    I will check if a test for upgrade to 9.4.1 can be arranged on one of the servers. Thanks.
