Does Sophos EndPoint Protection v 10.0 protect against the CryptoLocker threat?

I have reviewed the various forums looking for an answer to this question, but did find any specific information. What I have found is information about the threat, what it is, how it works, how it is typically propagated and how to avoid it. However I have not found any information that Sophos is a current and effective solution to protect users and their networks against this threat. I have found much information regarding other vendors and products and their defenses. I apologize if I have missed this information within the Sophos sites and forums. If this information does exist, can someone please point me to it? Thank you

  • The video we produced showing CryptoLocker in action does show that with Sophos installed and up to date the malware cannot run on a computer.  In the video we demostrate that the on-access scanner (and Tamper Protection) have to be bypassed to allow the threat to run.

So, yes.  Sophos protects your computers.
