windows 8.1 machines not getting policies after startup script install

I got domain windows 8.1 machines that installs sophos on a startup script. They get installed fine but the firewall/antivirus policy does not get pushed down immediately and causes the machine to get blocked from certains things.

how do I force that policy from the client side to update immediately?

Hi,
Is TCP port 8194 open on the client? If not the client will rely on polling for the policy which will incur a delay.
The other option, although not idea would be to set the config in the CID:

This way you're not reliant on RMS but it will be used at initial install. I don't think I would use this method but it is an option.
