Web Control Policy refusing to comply

Hi,

Just wondering has anyone come across this, its a windows 2000 server machine, all policies apart from one will apply correctly, its says in SEC awaiting policy from console, and the web control policy will not apply. RMS is working as it reports if i change settings on client. Other 2000 machines are fine. I have been onto support, have sent logs and got me to clear out the adapters folder. Still no joy

  Any idea's

  • HI,

Here are a couple of things to look into....

If you look in the current router log (\programdata\sophos\remote management system\3\router\logs\) on the client after performing a comply with just this policy type in SEC, do you see a set configuration message arrive shortly after?

This would at least suggest that a message is being sent to the client.

The next thing to check would be in the active Agent log (\programdata\sophos\remote management system\3\agent\logs\) do you see the agent obtain the message from the router?

As the config is transferred to the registry, you could also, one you have verified the above, Use Process Monitor (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx) on the client to see if the ManagementAgentNT.exe process even attempted to update the client registry keys following receiving the message.

    Regards,

    Jak
