Connect to Sophos DB's from remote Management Studio

I've successfully connected to the Sophos MSSQL Express instance running on my server using the domain account I created "domain\endpoint". However, that user doesn't seem to have any permissions to view the actual databases. I've also tried connected to the Sophos instance using SQL Authentication and entering the username and password to the db user initially created during instal, but that doesn't authenticate.

What is the proper way of connecting to the db's? Or how do I reset the db user password to make sure that I'm using the correct one? Is there an SA account in the Sophos instance?

Thanks.

  • Thanks for the reply Christian. I installed the Managment Studio on the local server and was able to access the db's so that's good enough for me.

The reason I want to access the database backends is for custom reporting. Sophos Enterprise Consol is lacking any reporting regarding the patch assessments it performs. I want to create a report that pretty much shows a summary for every machine including A/V information and patch assessment info. Only way to do this seems to be through the db's.
