Connect to Sophos DB's from remote Management Studio

I've successfully connected to the Sophos MSSQL Express instance running on my server using the domain account I created "domain\endpoint". However, that user doesn't seem to have any permissions to view the actual databases. I've also tried connected to the Sophos instance using SQL Authentication and entering the username and password to the db user initially created during instal, but that doesn't authenticate.

What is the proper way of connecting to the db's? Or how do I reset the db user password to make sure that I'm using the correct one? Is there an SA account in the Sophos instance?

Thanks.

  • Hello yani1shu,

any particular reason that you want to access to database or are you just curious? On a vanilla installation you shouldn't have to perform any additional steps to be able to access the database with e.g. sqlcmd. As you've said remote Management Studio and successfully connected the issue is perhaps related to the "domain\endpoint" account (I'm not sure whether this is the Database Account for your installation or some additional account). Can you access the database locally with this account?
