SOPHOS cannot update from HTTPS?

Hi,

New user here. We've bought Endpoint Protection and got everything setup nicely. When you are inside our offices SOPHOS updates directly from the SOPHOS Update Manager.

However, we've got quite a few roaming laptops. Also, we'd like to make use of the SOPHOS home offer. Whereby, SOPHOS could be installed on the employees' home computers. With the understanding that we provide the support. And, we serve the updates from our server.

However, our IIS web server serves HTTPS. And, it seems SOPHOS cannot handle an HTTPS update URL? Only HTTP?

I saw an old thread about this issue. Has this been solved? This is a little annoying...

Thanks,

SOPHOS cannot handle an HTTPS update URL

this is still the case. AutoUpdate can't rely on HTTPS to verify the validity and integrity of the update source, furthermore it looks like the current mechanism wouldn't perform with HTTPS. Admittedly HTTP puts the confidentiality of the updating credentials at risk ...
