I have a staff Mac computer ( OSX 10.9.4) installed with Sophos SAV 9.1.6 managed version. It stopped talking back to server for some time. Server admin suggested to uninstall and reinstall. While trying to uninstall, it asked for Tamper Protection password. The password given by server admin didn't work as it hadn't talked back to server for a while and password had been changed.
Now I've tried using steps on http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/14179.aspx
It seems deleted the sav app, but not a complete uninstall, as when I tried reinstall the managed version, errror message:"An error occurred while running the InstallationCheck tool for "SophosInstaller", try running the tool again"
Now I'm stuck. I installed the private version to have some protection for now.
My question is :
1) is there a way to uninstall Sophos if the tamper protection password was lost?
2) how do I install back the managed version ?
