SAV for windows 10.0.x retirement question

Hi,

I've Sophos Enterprise Console 5.2.1 installed on windows 7 x64

and managed 2 clients (Sophos Antivirus for windows v. 10.0.x) on windows server 2008 R2 x64.

Last month I've received notification about "Windows Endpoint v10.0.x Retirement" from Sophos

and I've read KB in that notification.

So ,The question is how do I upgrade SAV from 10.0.x to 10.3.x manually on client instead deploy from server.

because I want to installed SAV v10.3.x on only 1 client before use this version on both client.

Thanks.

Prachya

  • Hello Prachya,

looks like you have a license which lets you choose the version and you have elected to stay on 10.0 (for whatever reason).

Seems a little bit overcautious and furthermore to upgrade [...] manually is not the best approach in a managed environment. Any problems you encounter might as well be caused by the tweaking and you would be none the wiser. The "SEC way" would be to add a subscription for 10.3, create an according policy and a group to assign it to, move the endpoint to this group and watch it upgrade.
