I have a pool of computers that has 2 Network interface card in them. One is connected (192.168.x.x) and the other is not (169.x.x.x).
The problem I'm facing is that when an error occurs on one of those clients, the compter name shown is not correct. Even worse, it is changing over time.
Example, this morning I have an alert for outdated computers so I go check on Enterprise Console and I see Computer97 : Web protection is no longer functionnal. I go check, everything is fine on Computer97, I check back console and see Computer72 : Web Protection is no longer functionnal. It changed but I'm fairly certain it is the same physical computer. I'll eventually pinpoint the computer and correct the issue as the pool of computers is rather small (<20) but it takes me time. I have never seen this issue happen to my pool of computers with 1 NIC.
When I check Computer Detail I see 169.x.x.x for IP Address. Why ? There's no way the endpoint is contacting the server with that interface. Why is a single IP shown in details when there are mutliples ?
Is there a way to setup Endpoints to use the NIC on a specific subnet ?
I'm a litle outdated on version and we should be upgrading soon.
My console is 5.0.0.8
Endpoints 10.0.0.12
Thanks,
Stephane
