Use an other Database Account

Hi!

I have a problem with my Enterprise Console. When I want to open it, there is only an error.

I found out, that this will propably will be the solution:

http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/111898.aspx#createAccessToken

Now I want to know, can I just do this, while everything is running? Does this affect my Endpoint Security on my Users PC's? Do I have to change the configuration on their PC's?

Or can I just run, set up the Users and that's it without anycomplications?

Thanks!

Regards,

Lars

  • Re-running the SEC installer (setup.exe) will essentially perform a modify of the existing installation.  It gives you the ability to change the account for example.  It will not cause problems for the clients and you don't really need to take any special action before doing so.

If your management server is virtualised it might be worth creating a snaphot before just incase but it should be fine to go straight ahead.

You could optionally run DatabackupRestore before doing so: http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/114299.aspx.  This will create all the files needed to recreate the installtion in the current state if you need to perform disaster recovery.
