Home Use Setup query - Server end

Hi all,

I am wanting to configure access for Home Use for our staff.  I was looking thru the documentation but I was hoping to set it up just a little bit differently.  We already have a couple of servers opened up for HTTP access and I would like to get away from opening up the Sophos server.

Is there anyway i can place the SophosUpdate CIDs to a folder on another server?

Any help appreciated.

    Hi,

    Yes,  you can either:

    1. Install an additional Spohos Update Manager (SUM) and configure this via Enterprise Console.  This will therefore create you CIDs based on the subscriptions you choose.

    2. Have the current SUM on the management server write additional distribution points.  These could be remote locations, e.g.:

    \\serverb\

    \\serverb.dom.local\

    \\[ip\]

    etc.

    Option 1 would of course require a Windows computer to run the SUM component.
