Upgrading SEC 5.2.1r2 from Sophos Endpoint Protection - Advanced to Complete Security Suite

Hey all,

We are going to be beta testing Complete Security Suite with encryption.  Would it be best practice to upgrade the current SEC to add this license to the current setup or build a stand alone server and install it separate?  We are looking for a full replacement of our current encryption software, so it's likely we will be getting more licenses in the end...just want some input.

Thanks,

Adam

  • Hello Adam,

mixing two licenses on one server is not a good idea - a dedicated server (needn't even be a server OS) is the better choice.

You should also be aware of the extent and limitations of the bundled encryption - HDD only and device (computer) based, no user administration from the console and not extensible.
