Sophos Firewall 10.0\2, Windows 8 upg., Won't uninstall

We have a machine that runs Endpoint Security & Control and Sophos Firewall 10.0. It was running fine under Windows 7. The machine was upgraded to Windows 8 and now the Sophos Firewall won't run and won't uninstall. When we try to uninstall it, it complains that it can't be "installed" in this os. Updating the client to 10.2 did not help.

Is there an easy or manual way of removing Sophos Firewall or all of Sophos from a Windows 8 upgraded machine?

Thanks!

  • Hello balbsg,

I suggest you call Support - can't say if and how you can bypass the version check. Thinking about it - it's probably the best option to contact windows8@sophos.com as mentioned in the Early Access to SCF for Windows 8 announcement.

BTW - did you use the Upgrade Assistant?
