Installing Sophos anti-virus version 10 on Windows 8

I have been trying to install version 10 on a Windows 8 machine and cannot get it to run the insallation packet. It attempts to then stops. I already tried turning off Windows Smartscreen, but still will not run. Anyone had this issue and know how to resolve it?

I have been trying to install version 10 on a Windows 8
please note that there is 10.0 and 10.2. While I can confirm that the former does install on Window 8 only 10.2 is supported (and only for the Pro and Enterprise editions). Please see Sophos support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 - Overview and referred links for additional information.
