Error installing Enterprise Console 5.2.1

In the middle of an installation, I have the following:

SophosError.png

This is the second virtual machine I have used to try and install the console.  It is a Windows 2008R2 Standard edition server.

I have used the Sophos diagnostics software to create the compressed logs and environment.  There is an item in the Sophos_Server64msi log file that the CreateScheduledTask keeps failing.  There are other failures but most seem to be path related.  It appears I cannot upload the ZIP file.

I am using a domain account for the database and updates user.  There is another post about this type of failure but the error code I have is 0x8007051f and the steps do not help.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

MikeM.

  • Hello sd95,

It fails when creating the scheduled task and I assume it encounters the error when it tries to set up the account (DIST-DOM\sophosdb). It's somewhat strange though as I think setup.exe successfully verified this account when you entered its details (and in addition I'd expect that ModifyAccountPrivilege complained if it couldn't access the account). Usually this error code is seen with startup tasks when networking has not yet initialized.

Hm ... no idea, except: Could you try to create a task, Run whether this user is logged on or not, under the sophosdb user? If this fails it gives perhaps as hint. BTW: Please check also the Task Scheduler log (Diagnostics->Event Viewer->Applications and Services Logs->Microsoft->Windows->Task Scheduler->Operational.
