Sophos Encryption + Docking station issues

Hello everyone,

I hope to find an answer here. We recently bought new laptops from Dell. The models are Latitude 6540. We installed them with Windows 7 64 bits and then have encrypted these laptops with the Sophos Endpoint encryption.

The disk encryption finished encrypting the hard drive completely.

The users are using these laptops in combination with a docking station.

Here comes the issue:

On boot with the laptops in the docking station the laptops go through the post and then get to the encryption logon where they type in their (AD) username and password.

The mouse and keyboard do not react at all or have a delay of 1-2 minutes and the characters they type appear very slowly.

I have checked if there is a BIOS update but the laptops are so new that there is no BIOS update. I have checked the BIOS to see if there are settings I can change to avoid this. None found.

I checked the options button on the sophos logon but all it offers is to choose a specific drive.

I have tried bypassing the docking station by plugging the (USB) keyboard and mouse directly into the laptop. No success.

the only work around I have found is opening the laptop lid and using the laptop keyboard and trackpad. Here the keyboard works fine but the trackpad not always. I instructed the users to open the lid and use the laptop keyboard and TAB key to logon and then close the lid to continue to boot to Windows.

We are about to deploy 30-40 more of these laptops.

I am concerned this is going to cause problems.

I was wondering if this is a known issue and if there is a solution.
