dcpromo and Sophos Services

Question

Hello Everyone,

I am new here so please be gental with me. I am hoping that you can help me out of a pickle please? I have done all the usual googling and come up dry. :smileysad:

We have recenty had to dcphromo a server that was running our Sophos database and Enterprise Console. Since we have done this the some sophos services no longer start and come up with error 5 access denied. Has anyone come accross this before and know how to resolve this please?

The servies that won't start are; Sophos Management Service, Sophos Management Host, Sophos Patch enpoint Communicator, Sophos Endpoint Orchestrator and Sophos Patch Server Communicator. We are using Enterprise Console version 5.2.

I have check that the user that is used for these (domin\SophosManagement) services is allowed to logon as a service but it makes no difference.

If I understand correctly you have promoted the server which adversely affected the management server (and likely SQL Server as well). There's no way (at least that I know of) to simply repair the installation.
