SAV 9.5.6 update to 10.x.x ?

Hi, Was just browsing forum when I saw SAV 9.5 is in "extended maintenance" in another post. Please can you tell me when and how do I get updated to version 10? Also, although my SAV updated today (11/11/2012) the virus detection data date shows 05/11/2012. Is this date differential normal? Thanks

Hello Justauser,
if you indeed are what your nick says - just a user - you'd have to ask your site's Sophos administrators as the product subscription is managed on the central server.
As for the meaning of detection data date (and other relevant dates) please see for example here.

Hi Christian, Many thanks for your reply. Although my nick is indeed "just a user" this was chosen to indicate that I am not an expert! As one half of my two-person business, I am also the Sophos administrator (have been for the last 7 years!) as well as doing all the other odd jobs. Paid my latest licence fee back in Feb and heard nothing since. Not worried about the update, but would like to know when and how. Thanks also for the link about the detection data date. Guess in a nutshell this means the date when everything new gets consolidated into one package, but the important date is the "last updated" date? Cheers Jon

Hello Jon,
now 10.x is available since quite some time. Furthermore not being upgraded automatically from 9.5/9.7 required some action on your part, viz explicitely selecting the (in your case) 9.5 Extended Maintenance subscription. Are you using SEC or SCC (the Small Business license)?
