A couple days a ago I lost a bunch of folders one of the folder contains the Sophos License Schedule.

Im worried that someone might use the software. I have to sets of username and password. EM and Download

I already change my download password.

I want to know if there is a way to change my EM password?

  • HI,

You would have to get in touch with Support for such as request but I'm sure they can issue you with a new username and password if you explain that your previous ones have been lost and could be used by others to get the software for free.

If you only use those it in the Update Manager(s) to get updates from Sophos it would be easy enough to change the configuration of SUM to use the new credentials.

It will become more of a problem if you have unmanaged endpoints that are using the credentials to update from Sophos directly for example and you need to change the account in use on a number of clients.

If your updating policy for your managed endpoints is to update from Sophos as a secondary using those credentials, then you will need to update the policy with the new credentials and ensure all clients get them.

As it's not a problem for you as such, more Sophos (someone getting free downloads taking up bandwidth) that the credentials are out there.  If they do create you new credentials it might be worth asking for the old ones to be expired only when you know all your endpoints have the new ones (all say same as policy for updating for example) to minimise a break in downloads.

    Regards,

    Jak
