  • Hello che,

dunno if the Bootstrapper log (please see Console 5.x: Prerequisite checks ...) has more details. The check tells you that the RunOnce key ([HKLM|HKCU]\SOFTWARE\[Wow5432Node\]Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce) isn't empty. The entries should be gone after a reboot - what's in there?

  • Hi QC,

thank you so much for your response its been days since i am trying to install sophos enterprise consol 5.2 on windows server 2008 R2

and yes about what you asked me to check there is still Runonce.

    What shall i do?

  • Hello che,

the RunOnce key does always exist, if you get a fatal error from the prereqs-check there are one or more values in there (which are either not cleared or recreated). If indeed there are some, could you perhaps post them (screenshot or from an export)?

  • Hi Christian,

Thanks for your reply i have attached the run once like you asked me and i think there is nothing there.

  • It's: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations

    Maybe just rename it.

  • Jak might be right.

I was thinking of the message which doesn't allow you to proceed as opposed to   We recommend that you restart the computer before installing Sophos Enterprise Console - though IIRC you can decide to continue for the latter. Guess the message in the bootstrap log is a little bit more precise about the reason (though the texts use to change slightly which each SEV version). BTW - as far as I can determine setup.exe checks the current user's RunOnce key (HKCU, not HKLM) for a specific value name

    Christian.

  • Hello che,

please check the bootstrapper log for a line with ERROR in the 4th column - this should name the check which failed.
