  • Hello llgioll.

it's not clear - at least to me - what exactly you have in mind. Well, I'll try to explain a few things and maybe you could give some more details.

If you intend to use SEC on an isolated (AKA air gapped) network this is of course possible. SEC manages both the clients and the download of updates from Sophos - thus the IDE updates don't come into play here. The clients would get their updates from the share maintained by the console but you can't feed the IDEs to the console. It has to update directly or indirectly from Sophos. As the former doesn't apply you'd need another management server which can connect to Sophos.

Before making detailed suggestions I want to make sure I've understood what you are up to.

  • hi

    thanks christian

    your information was usefull

sorry i couldnt tnk u earlier

I think airgap is the solution and yes we want to use SEC isolated

I read something about the air gap config here http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/64899.aspx

and i think thats what we are going to setup

but i couldnt find anything about what you said about installing the second management server

i dont know if this possible to install only the SUM on the non air gapped network but if not then you are right and we need 2 SECs.

  • Hello llgioll,

as you need SEC to configure SUM you have to have a management server on the "connected" network (it's installing on your non-air-gapped network). This is more or less your first management server.
