Endpoint Console Server deleted :(

Hi All

We have a windows domain.

We have a dedicated 2012 R2 windows server in Azure that hosts 5.2.2 Sophos Endpoint Console.

We have been remotely installing Endpoint protection to clients via this machine happily.

This has been running fine, until the hdd that hosted the database and all Sophos info was deleted.

Now i cannot launch the console or do anything.

I realise the solution will probably be a full reinstall to another drive. However, what will happen?

Will existing clients report back to the server with their status? So for example if a client already has Sophos installed, will my reinstalled server pick this up?

Any advice/tips welcomed

Cheers

  • Hello tux182,

this is known to happen occasionally and that's why regular backups (preferably to a sufficiently different device) are recommended. If you don't have a backup of the CertAuthStore you'll have to re-protect your endpoints from the new server in order to be able to manage them.
