Yesterday I noticed my sophos update was completely gone.
Checking further it had tried to upgrade itself on feb 10, by downloading, removing itself and then failing to install the new version.
The error of the installation was cannot crate user SophosSAU...xxx50. Reading some kb articles I managed to get passed that, only to discover it was not updating at all.
then running wireshark I saw the pathes it was trying to retrieve was empty like catalogue/.xml
I then read there should be a file called toplevelcatalogue.dat only that I did not have that, and the forum post I found was old, so what I put in there maybe (I'm suspecting see below) made things worse :(
I've changed the value to sdds.esc_10_3 and the secondary sophos server upgraded me. but now the virus data is older:
Original savx version 10.3.1 (is showing 10.3.6.88 now)
original virus data 2014-11-11 (is showing 2014-07-29 now)
could you provide me following:
what is the correct url path to the top level catalogue?
http://d1.sophosupd.net/update/catalogue/sdds.esc_10_3.xml gives me a not found
