Can't print wirelessly

Hi everyone

I'm having real issues trying to get my firewall to let me print to my HP Deskjet 3070. I've reinstalled the HP software and it doesn't work. I've configured my LAN to allow the entire network and the ip address of the printer and it won't work (I can copy files from other computers). I've tried to merge the file at Sophos Client Firewall: blocks the installation of HP Networked Printer Software however using the instructions from the link on the same page (Sophos Client Firewall: merging rules) it's not the same as the on screen options as the instructions aren't for Windows7. The blocked connections log says Application is "system", Direction "IN REFUSED", Protocol "IGMP", Reason "Block all activity" I've tried running the HP Print and Scan Doctor and that just says it's probably your firewall. Is there anyway to get the wireless printer to work, or should I just turn off sophos firewall and use thje windows one?

    Hello Keggsy,

    looks like several of the SCF articles are no up to date. It has nothing to do with the OS but with the SCF version (so it's not the instructions for Windows 7 which are missing). Guess what is called general configuration in the article(s) is now Global settings in the import dialogue and the global and application rules are now Location specific settings (I remember mentioning the article to be outdated here - never contacted Sophos about it though).

    The "preset" might or might not help - from your post it looks like you need IGMP and this is contained in the set. Note that if you are using checksums you can add them from the .conf file (by checking the appropriate box in the Global settings section) but if you have newer versions of the HP programs you have to update them.
