Can't print wirelessly

Hi everyone

I'm having real issues trying to get my firewall to let me print to my HP Deskjet 3070. I've reinstalled the HP software and it doesn't work. I've configured my LAN to allow the entire network and the ip address of the printer and it won't work (I can copy files from other computers). I've tried to merge the file at Sophos Client Firewall: blocks the installation of HP Networked Printer Software however using the instructions from the link on the same page (Sophos Client Firewall: merging rules) it's not the same as the on screen options as the instructions aren't for Windows7. The blocked connections log says Application is "system", Direction "IN REFUSED", Protocol "IGMP", Reason "Block all activity" I've tried running the HP Print and Scan Doctor and that just says it's probably your firewall. Is there anyway to get the wireless printer to work, or should I just turn off sophos firewall and use thje windows one?

Thanks

  • Just to clarify on the import options, the instructions say:

"You will be asked to specify how you want to import the configuration file.

    • Deselect the 'Load the general configuration' checkbox.
    • Ensure that the 'Load the global and application rules' checkbox is selected.
    • Select 'Merge'"

    However I only have:

    1. Select which parts of the configuration to import:
    • Location detection settings
    • Checksum settings
    • Log Settings

    2. Location specific settings

    • Primary location

    3. How to import the settings

    • overwrite existing configurations
    • merge existing configurations
