Problem installing Sophos Anti-virus 10.0

This morning I downloaded my university's version of Sophos Anti-Virus 10.0 to install onto my brand new ACER Aspire 5750Z. The problem is that the installer freezes up before completing the installation. Specifically, it freezes up when the installer's message box hows "Updating Sophos Protection. Please wait..." I've closed the program and restarted my computer but the same problem repeats itself over.

What's confusing is that I've successfully installed the same program onto other older PC laptops of mine but somehow it's not working on this new laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello bro12,

    your primary source for support should be your university's IT department - especially if this is a managed install as site specific settings might be involved. BTW: apart from age and make - is there a difference in the OS?

    Hi,

    This is bro12. Sorry I had to change my username due to some login issue but I was able to successfully install the program after re-downloading the program.
