I'm running Sophos Endpoint Security and Control 10.0 on Win 7 Enterprise x64. Windows "Action Center" says that for spyware and unwanted software protection, both Windows Defender and SAV report that they are turned on, and that running two+ anti-spyware programs may slow the computer down. Task Manager shows WinDefend as a running service and SavMain as a process.
(For virus protection, however, only SAV is turned on, not Windows Defender, according to Windows Action Center.)
I haven't had any obvious problems, though hard to tell with 3+-year old machine (Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9550 2.83GHz, 3.93 GB RAM). Speed seems OK. Just wondering whether I should turn Win Defender off completely. I'm unwilling to lose its reporting facilities if it's not doing any harm. Advice? TIA.
