SUM cannot download Mac OS X subscription

Hi All,

We have a Windows 2008 R2 domain network (with Windows 2008 R2 servers, Windows 7 workstations, Mac OS X 10.9.4 workstations and CentOS 6.5 servers/workstations) that access the internet via a proxy (Squid). I have set up a Sophos Server on Windows Server 2008 R2 and have successfully subscribed to Windows and Linux subscriptions and have protected all Windows and Linux machines. However, whenever I add the Mac OS X 10.6+ subscription, the SUM throws errors saying there is an issue with the proxy/gateway and the HTTP response code is 502. We do not have any issues with the proxy as we can get to the internet without issues. Our paid subscription includes Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Anyone else experienced this? I can't seem to find any related posts on Google.

Edit: We are using SEC 5.1.

Thanks in advance,

Vlad

  • Hi Christian,

Sorry, I did not get an email indicating you replied as I forgot to check the box.

I tried all the listed download sites on a web browser and d1 gave the following error:

    ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

The following error was encountered while trying to retrieve the URL: http://d1.sophosupd.com/update/639f8414c87cfb8f1c00595b74fb6374x000.dat

        Read Error

The system returned: (104) Connection reset by peer

An error condition occurred while reading data from the network. Please retry your request.

The others gave the following error (as I pressume those don't contain the binaries):

    File not found

Firefox can't find the file at http://d2.sophosupd.com/update/639f8414c87cfb8f1c00595b74fb6374x000.dat.

Check the file name for capitalisation or other typing errors.
Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.

I have tried on a PC connected directly to the net as well as my mobile and the dat file downloads fine from the d1 site. The question begs, what is so special about that dat file that won't allow it to be downloaded via a proxy?

BTW, I tried to download some of the other DAT files as listed in the SUMTrace log via the browser from d1 and they all worked. So it is just the 639f8414c87cfb8f1c00595b74fb6374x000.dat file.

    Kind Regards,

    Vlad
