Sophos Management Server Role Install Failed

Hi all,

We are trying to recover our Sophos Management Console on the same server where it got accidently uninstalled.

I have reinstalled the database role, and the console successfully, but the Management Server role is displaying MSI errors 1603 in the logs which I am unable to resolve.....

i have tried the following

- renaming certification manager reg hive (changed this back)

 - restarting the PC after error message

- tried another MSI incase the original was corrupt

I have noticed that Windows Event Viewer is displaying the below in MsiInstaller Source with a error, when installing the role, I did notice it only asked for the MSO certificate and not the company certificate.

-----------------

Product: Sophos Management Server -- 1: Certificate not found.

-----------------

this is the Sophos install log.... can someone help?

  • thanks for the quick replies.. much appericated.

I am currently using setup.exe to reinstall SEC.  all three SEP roles were unfortunally uninstalled (database, console, server), our SQL guy has restored the database using SQL 2012, which migrated over successfully, and Sophos database role has been installed.

two roles have been installed OK now, but the server role is causing the problem
