Stagger upgrade of clients without console downgrading them?

Hi,

I have recently upgraded our Sophos console to 5.2.2 and now I want to upgrade all our servers and workstations from Sophos endpoint security and control version 10.0 to version 10.3.

I don't want to just change our subscription to recommended as I need to control the roll out, but I have found during my testing that if I do a manual install of 10.3.7 on a server it then downgrades itself back to 10.0 during its next update check.

Can anyone recommend the best way for me to upgrade servers without them auto updating or downgrading themselves?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

James

  • Hello James,

managed endpoints always have to (try to) use the version provided to them in the update location. Downgrading is a supported scenario and otherwise they wouldn't be able to update at all anyway. Thus you need an additional subscription with the desired version, at least one additional updating policy configured to use this subscription and possibly additional groups which get this policy assigned.

  • Thanks Chrisitian,

I have created a new group and subscription e.t.c. Now I am moving one server at a time and updating it when I am allowed to reboot it.

    Thanks for your help.
