OpenAL application control

On my client computers Sophos is blocking an application called OpenAL(Porgramming/Scripting Tool) from running. I need to unblock this application. I go into the enterprise console and pull up the Application control policy. The OpenAL application isnt anywhere. I can't choose to authorize it in any of the lists. It appears that Sophos is choosing to automatically block applicaitons without giving me an ability to manually approve applications. My user at work cant continue to perform his job duties until I'm able to approve this application to run.

Enterprise Console is 5.2.2

Client Sophos is  10.3.7.527

  • Hello MJonesPro,

indeed OpenAL isn't on the list in the policy GUI (though it's on the Lab's Controlled Applications list). It's likely blocked by the All added by Sophos in the future entry so as a temporary workaround you could try to move that one to the Authorized list. Dunno why OpenAL is not exposed in the policy and you should contact Support.
