Understanding log sizes

I'm currently involved in a project that requires me to be able to understand both the number of events logged and  the logs sizes our Enterprise Console holds.

I would also like to understand how I can determine the average daily log sizes (over a 24 hour period)

Is there a quick way of getting at this information?

Cheers

  • Hello Mike-OB,

there's quite a number of logs for the various components. Most logs are both limited in size (1-2M) and number of "archives". Thus the space required remains more or less constant while the "turnaround" (and the interval covered by the logs) varies depending on activity.

All logs are under ProgramData\Sophos so it should not be too hard to find out the details. Feel free to ask if you have specific questions.
