Any way to re-trigger a location detection? 9.7

Hi folks

Is there a way to manually trigger a re-detection of the firewall location, ideally something we can use in a script?

Background: we are in the process of migrating from Juniper's Network Connect to their newer JunOS Pulse VPN client, when the vpn client is connected the firewall should detect location of 'both'... this works flawlessly with NC, but with the newer Pulse client the firewall remains in Secondary UNLESS we restart the firewall service (then it correctly selects 'both'). Restarting the firewall service is obviously not desirable...

Thanks!

JDL

  • We have the option toi launch a local script when the VPN client connects, that gives us a chance to 'refresh' the locations - is there any kind of detailed logging we could look at for location elections?

Thanks for the advice - we're going to make sure we can reproduce this consistently then talk to Support.
