Any way to re-trigger a location detection? 9.7

Hi folks

Is there a way to manually trigger a re-detection of the firewall location, ideally something we can use in a script?

Background: we are in the process of migrating from Juniper's Network Connect to their newer JunOS Pulse VPN client, when the vpn client is connected the firewall should detect location of 'both'... this works flawlessly with NC, but with the newer Pulse client the firewall remains in Secondary UNLESS we restart the firewall service (then it correctly selects 'both'). Restarting the firewall service is obviously not desirable...

Thanks!

JDL

  • Hello JDL,

how would you trigger the script?

Usually SCF should notice the state change of a network adapter (real or virtual - especially if it goes "up") and determine the location. I could only fantasize why it missed the change - so I'd suggest you contact Support directly. There shouldn't be any external triggers necessary.
