Hi,
We are in the process of deploying a web applicaiton on a cloud based server running 64 bit Windows 2008 R2 Server. The server also runs Endpoint and uses the disk encryption. In this connection, our quesiton is as under:
Our web applicaiton saves a lot of documents to the hard disk. These are user documents. If Endpoint encrypts the hard disk, it is assumed that these documetns also will be encrypted. Now the question is when a user tries to retrive the document, will the user able to see the document in the original format ? Since the document is encrypted, will the applicaiotn be able to recoginze the format and list the documetns in the applicaiton for the user to see and select? All these are in PDF / Word formats. If endpoint encrypts this, then the applicaiton may not be able to recoganize the format and nothing will get listed in the applicaiton. Even if it gets listed, how can a user open and see the document contents ? Do we have to do anything in the applicaiton to decrpyt the documents and files ?
Thanks and Regards
Rajendan
