  • Hi Stanis,

We don't fully support Debian as a distribution for Sophos Anti-Virus v7 (Linux).  This means that a binary pack for on-access scanning isn't included.  However, the installer should compile a binary pack for your kernel if you have the necessary development tools installed (eg. gcc, make, kernel-headers) and you wish to enable on-access scanning.

Even with on-access disabled you will still have the option to run a normal savscan or setup scheduled scans.  There is also built-in automatic updating, remote management and a GUI.

The other option would be to use Sophos Anti-Virus v4 (Linux) which is a command-line scanner with no other features such as auto-updating, remote management etc.

Hope this helps, please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Tom.
