How to tell Sophos Endpoint client to connect to Enterprise Console with another IP address

Question

Originally my Enterprise Console has two IP, ip_1 and ip_2, in two different subnet. Sophos Endpoint client, in same subnet as ip_2, was successfully installed, but it tried to connect to Enterprise Console with ip_1, which it failed.

I followed http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/111862.aspx and made changes on the client, but it still tried to connect ip_1.

How else can I do to tell the client to connect to ip_2?

Hello,

I would do as follows:

1. find all mrinit.conf files on the server, including all the CID locations and update with just the correct IP address.

2. Once done, copy the mrinit.conf from the root of the CIDs, to the rms sub directory.

3. Run configcid (http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/13112.aspx) against each CID, this will checksum the custom mrinit.conf in the cidsync.upd.

On the next update, all clients will pull down the custom mrinit.conf and RMS with re-initialise.

Once done, you can check on the clients, undet the ParentAddress key (hklm\software\[wow6432node]\sophos\messaging system\router\) that the list of addresses are correct.
