Update Failure

I have read the forums and can not find the answer to why my Sophos Endpoint antivirus update continues to fail. I am using the word "Sophos" for address and the User name and password given to me when I bought it. I get the message "Could not contact server".  Is there anyone that has solved this issue?

  • If the address is correct, and the username and password is the same as on the Sophos license schedule:

    • The computer is not connected to the network/Internet.
    • Port 80 is blocked.
    • One or more Sophos services are stopped.
    • The username has expired (check your license schedule for the expiry date).
    • There is more than one username on the license schedule and the wrong one is entered.
    • Look out the window and check that the world has not ended.

    Best to check the right username and password is entered, as shown on your schedule, and that it's still valid - always delete the password field and type in again.  Also check the ALC.log file and see if there is a particular error.
