Sophos AV endpoint client updater

Hello,

New to Sophos :\

When a client is not managed via SEC how does it update? Does this become disabled once it is managed byt he SEC?

    Hello A (antypanty),

    a short summary (maybe it helps in better understanding the documentation):

    A client can either update from an on-site update location (SMB, HTTP - in special cases even a local folder) or directly from Sophos. The AutoUpdate component is the same for managed and unmanaged clients

    Whether a client is (potentially) managed or not depends on whether the RMS (management) component is included in the install. The stand-alone installer from the Sophos site does not include RMS. To make an unmanaged client a managed one you have to reinstall from your site
