  • Hi,

Welcome to the forum, essentially you need to do as follows:

    1. On the server install Enterprise Console, the latest is 5.2.

    http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/documentation/enterprise-console.aspx

Everything it requires such as .NET 4/MSMQ/SQL Express will be installed for you as required.

This will install the Sophos components:

    - A Management Console (Sophos Enterprise Console itslef)

    - Management server software (To communicate with the clients)

    - Databases in the SQL Express Instance

    - Sophos Update Manager (SUM)

    2.  Once installed, (after reboot/log off and on) you will first enter your credentials to update with.  These essentially configure SUM with the details to obtain updates from Sophos.

    3.  Once the download is complete you will have a distribution point.  E.g.:

    \\<ServerName>\SophosUpdate\CIDs\S000\SAVSCFXP\

It might take a while to be created as it's around 250MB.

You can see the path from within SEC under the View-bootraplocations.

You can then deploy the software to clients either by:

    1- At a client running:

    \\<ServerName>\SophosUpdate\CIDs\S000\SAVSCFXP\setup.exe

Note: Command line options if you want to install silently rather than using the interface can be found here:

    http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/12570.aspx

    2- Deploying from Enterprise Console.

You will need to create groups in Enterprise Console, find computers and move them to a group before deploying.

Thagt's pretty much it other than defining and linking policies to groups.

    Regards,

    Jak
