Updating Failed: Could not find a source for updated packages

We have a dual network here, Netware & AD.  Our Sophos server is setup on the AD network.

I have a Windows XP computer which I installed the Sophos client on manually (copied the files from the shared directory and installed).  Sophos installs fine and takes all the configuration options.

Anytime the client tries to update I receive the following error (numbers changed of course)

Downloading product SAVXP from server http://123.45.6.789

ERROR: Download of SAVXP failed from server http://123.45.6.789

Downloading product of Sophos AutoUpdate from server  http://123.45.6.789

ERROR: Download of Sophos Autoupdate failed from server  http://123.45.6.789

ERROR: Could not find source for updated packages

Downloading Phase completed

Auto Update finished.

-I can ping the sophos server from the client computer

-I have completly disabled the firewall on both the client and the server

-I can NOT  http://123.45.6.789   from any computer or web browser (404 error)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jon

  • I was used to set the directory browsing enabled to test connection to the webCID.
It's also need you to add MIME Type for application with extension : * , and filed type application/octet-stream

The Web CIDs are configured for 'anonymous' access by default. But we can also change to use other HTTP authentication types: Basic , NTLM, or Digest.
