Sophos Antivirus + Citrix Provisioning server vdisks?

Hello.

We are implementing Citrix Provisioning server with vdisks to push Citrix XenApp servers.
We want Sophos Antivirus on there on a standard image for the XenApp servers (server 2003/8) but everytime an server is booted, a new image is ''downloaded'' to the XenApp VM.

Can Sophos anti-virus handle these changes for the image, eg name, ID?

Or are there some settings, registery keys that make the sophos installation unique for the console?

  • We have the same situation, and i also want to know if there are any best practices with Provisioning Server.

Now we installed Sophos in the Provisioning Image on a additional non-VDISK, so when the program is updated is will place all the files on a different location. After a reboot of the provisioning server the image will be back in default, but Sophos will remain intact. Assuming that no changes are made on an OS level (registry in example).

Any feedback from Sophos is appriciated

  • We have this in operation. It works so far. Sophos is updating as it should. So I always have the newest virus definitions and even the new version 10.2 is been pushed. But I can not manage it via the Enterprise console. In SEC I have an AD-sync configured and I see the VMs, but they are grayed out and apear as "not installed". So I can not manage them.
