SEC 5.1 not bypassing UAC

Hi all,

Have just finally started using SEC 5.1.

I have it installed and am trying the first basic test; client installation to the SEC server. The scheduled task is created and runs, but fails with the standard "interactive session required" blurb. When looking at the scheduled task I can see that "use highest privileges" is not ticked.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Rob

  • HI,

SEC 5.1 should enable that option in the task by default.

Do you happen to have a registry key called:

    "EnableTaskScheduler2 " under: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE[wow6432node]\Sophos\EE\"?

I wonder if that's been created in the past and is not interfering with the new defaults of SEC 5.1?

    Regards,

    Jak

  • Hi Jak,

That's one of the things I checked! There is no such registry key.

This is a pretty new server and has never had SEC installed before.

    Any more ideas?

    Thanks

    Rob

  • Hi,

Can you monitor a clients scheduled tasks, deploy to it, as soon as you see, or just after, the Sophos install task get created, can you export it to XML.  It would be interesting to see the "runlevel" in that.

    <RunLevel>HighestAvailable</RunLevel>

    or
    <RunLevel>LeastPrivilege</RunLevel>

    Thanks
