IDEs / Updating problems

Hello

My anti-virus has not updated since 19th November yet when I run an update now it doesn't throw up any errors.

How do I tell which IDE is for me? I run Sophos 10

    some links on the IDE webpage are broken http://www.uk.sophos.com/downloads/ide/

    where's the link from? It seems to be outdated but still available. The correct link (referred from Threat identity (IDE) files: overview) is this: Download latest virus identity (IDE) files .

    Apart from this - where do you usually update from? Just downloading the latest IDEs (BTW: to determine which ones open Sophos, click View product information on the bottom left, expand Anti-virus and HIPS/+ Software and look at Detection data - likely 4.83 or 4.83G) won't solve the underlying problem. Could be a stale updating directory (CID).

    I got that link from a "Sophos IDE" google search

    When I look at the product information it says

    Virus Data Date: 05/11/12

    Last Updates: 27/11/12

    I usually update from the Sophos Control Center for Small Business, although I tried right-clicking the Anti-Virus and using the "Update Now" function, however this still hasn't updated my program

    Hello LFCGeorge,

    the date suggests the November version - but the Detection data field is the significant one for selecting the IDEs (as said, likely 4.83, perhaps 4.82).

    That you don't get an error suggests you can sucessfully contact "your" server (BTW - what about other clients) - what do you get when you view the updating log? Does it say Installation skipped?

    Hi QC

    Yes the IDE was 4.83, I downloaded the ZIP and placed the IDE files in the approprate folder within \Program Files

    I then forced an update through the SCC, upon checking this morning, every client PC and Server is showing a 'Yes' underneath the Up to Date tab

    The Servers Anti-Virus is now saying

    Detection Data: 4.84G

    Virus Data Date: 10/12/2012

    Last Updated: 18/12/2012

    Which is very good to see :)

    Hello LFCGeorge,

    is automatic updating working again? You should check the respective date (I see the last update less than an hour ago so by now you should see 19/12/2012).
