SEC fails to install BD in SQL 2012

I'm trying to install the SEC 5.2.1 on Server 2012R2 running SQL 2012 SP1. Everything looks fine but it fails right at the end. The install log shows the following:

11/30/2013 2:56:18 PM, INFO : Processing INSTALLMESSAGE_TERMINATE message from MSI
11/30/2013 2:56:18 PM, INFO : Deactivate state: Installing
11/30/2013 2:56:18 PM, INFO : Activate state: Failing
11/30/2013 2:56:18 PM, INFO : Installation of Database64.msi failed with error code: 1618
11/30/2013 2:56:18 PM, INFO : Ended installing Database64.msi
11/30/2013 2:56:20 PM, INFO : Installation failed with error code: 1618
11/30/2013 2:56:20 PM, INFO : Deactivate state: Failing
11/30/2013 2:56:20 PM, INFO : Activate state: Failed
11/30/2013 2:56:20 PM, INFO : Entered Installation failed page.
11/30/2013 2:57:17 PM, INFO : Opening logs folder: C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Management Installer

If I allow it to create the 2008 SQL express instance it seems to work find. but I'd much rather have it use our full SQL 2012

    HI,

    Can you search the failed database MSI log (Sophos_Database64msi [timestamp].log) for the text

    return value 3

    then post the lines around it, e.g. 20 above and 5 below.

    Also, the contents of the files (C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Management Installer\)

    • Sophos_InstallCoreDB.log
    • Sophos_InstallEncDB.log
    • Sophos_InstallPatchDB.log
    • Sophos_InstallSophosSecurityDB.log

    would be useful - at least:

    • Sophos_InstallCoreDB.log
