SNMP Alerts from "Ghost Machines"

I have a handful of endpoints that have been pulled back and decomissioned. However these machines are still sending out SNMP Alerts. Is there a manner in which to remove these machines such that the console will stop reporting there issues?

  • Hello g_Raymond,

indeed Ghosts seems to be the appropriate term. I might be dense but I fail to make meaning out of it.

that the console will stop reporting there issues - you're not talking about SEC, are you? SEC doesn't care a fig for SNMP other than instructing the clients to send traps for certain events and where to send them and (by default) using it to discover computers by IP range - but neither results in any reporting of issues. So I don't see how this could relate to Sophos.

endpoints that have been [...} decommissioned [...] are still sending out SNMP Alerts - show me and I'll start believing in ghosts :smileywink:. I'm not making fun of you, seriously - there's perhaps some misunderstanding or misinterpretation here (which might be on my side though). Could you give some details what you see and where? .

    Christian
