Endpoint client RAM Usage

hi guys 

im in the testing phase for sophos endpoint antivirus with the console

what kind of RAM usage is avrage for the main antivirus engine .exe file to use when idle?

iv seen them use almost 200mb on windows 7 clients thats kinda high?

    when idle

    it's not active scans which dictate RAM usage. It's the definitions which have to be in memory all the time for good performance. As on-access intercepts (and temporarily blocks) file operations and you want them to commence as fast as possible additional I/O caused by the need to load the definitions would adversely affect performance.

    almost 200mb

    that's the expected amount
