Create email alerts for Update Managers

Hi!

We have 6 update managers for branch offices. Some of these obtain updates from the central SEC, others directly from Sophos.

We would to create an alarm that send an email message when one of the update managers doesn't update, is it possible to do it from the central SEC?

Thanks to all!

  • Hi,

Via SEC you can set an email alert (Warning or Critical) for "Time since last update from Sophos". That's about it from SEC.

Otherwise a couple of ways I can think of, would be:

1/ Write a script that queries the database to send an email.

2/ Attach an event to the application event log entries on each of the SUM machines.  Source is "SophosUpdateManager".  You can send an email based on those maybe?  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc748900.aspx

    Might be worth a try.
