Need to turn off updating on standalone

I have a standalone PC which only gets updates via sneakernet copy of the savw_95_sa_sfx.exe download. How do I make it stop giving an error icon in the XP system bar with an "update failed" message?

Thanks,

  • Hello angelsrlw ,

the short answer is: clicking the Sophos icon (or Start->Programs->Sophos->Sophos Endpoint Security and Control ->Sophos Endpoint Security and Control ) select Configure updating.

The questions are: Are you actually talking about updating Sophos? Is updating indeed turned off, and if so - why? Except for the Mac HE you get Sophos from "your" site (company, university, ...). Even if it's the standalone version you need your site's credentials to fetch the updates. So in case updates don't work you should ask your site's IT.
